Welcome to GhanaYouthOnline.org, the website of the Ghana Youth Council. It is designed to be an online resource for everyone who is interested in the development of Ghana's youth and young adult population.

The Ghana Youth Council is a nonpartisan and independent membership organization. The Council’s primary mission is to provide the platform for young people to bring together their ideas, skills and expertise to contribute to each other and Ghana.

The Council does this in a variety of ways by providing structures to allow our membership to engage in activities that advance social, cultural and economic progress; convening meetings, symposia and conferences at which council members, government officials, policy-makers, international leaders, academia and scholars can discuss issues surrounding Ghana; organizing workshops and networking events that benefit council members; providing support services to our membership to assist in the pursuit of their individual aspirations; performing charitable and community activities that will uplift the youth and people of Ghana, both in the Diaspora and at home.

We at the Council believe that the youth of Ghana must chart a new path. We must despise mediocrity and the status-quo. We must be passionate, creative and excellent in everything that we do. We are the generation that must refuse to go down the well-traveled path of poverty, passivity, ignorance, corruption, predictability and negative cultural conformity. Instead we must turn to our God-given talents and choose the less-traveled path of excellence, courage, discipline, faith, service and integrity.

The time to assist in moving ourselves and Ghana’s forward is now! We at the Council hope you will join us in this mission.

The Mission of The Ghana Youth Council is to impact Ghana’s development by providing the framework and support that will allow the youth and young professionals of Ghanaian descent to engage in the social, cultural and economic development of themselves and ultimately Ghana as a whole.

The Ghana Youth Council seeks to be the ultimate focal point for channeling the experiences and creativity of the youth and young professionals to developing each other and contributing to Ghana.

i. Membership is open to anybody who is committed to service, integrity, development and is willing to use their ideas, skills, expertise to contribute to the youth, young adults and people of Ghana. There are no age restrictions. Membership ranges from teenagers to adults. However, GYC exhibits youthful innovative approaches in the way it conducts its affairs.

ii. GYC is headquartered in Virginia. However, GYC members are located all around the world. Currently, the majority of GYC's activities and functions center around the Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts area and also in Ghana. Members everywhere can still remain engaged through our website and filling out our short membership form.

iii. GYC hosts monthly meeting and an Annual National meeting usually somewhere in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts area. The monthly meeting are generally to brainstorm ideas and implement projects. The Annual National meeting is usually used to celebrate the successes of GYC during the past year.
